New River Notes, a leading genealogy resource for the New River Valley of North Carolina and Virginia, launched its new look website today.

Ashe County, North Carolina

Ashe County was created from Wilkes County on 23 Dec 1799. On 27 Jan 1849 Ashe County lost to the creation of Watauga County and in Feb 1859 Ashe County lost to the creation of Alleghany County.
