Grandpa Medley (Thomas Jefferson) made the picket fence and they are in front of a huge Pampas grass plant that he got somewhere in his travels and planted in the yard. Mom said that he took really good care of his yard. This was on Mitchell's River, inside what is now the Reynolds Estate ...Mom said neighbors would get the "flowers" from the Pampas Grass to use for dusters..

She is one of 4 living children of the 11 born in the same house to Marvin and Ida Mae Osborne Eastridge. Grace was baptized in 1911 at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church, Brushy Fork, Ashe County, NC. She was married to Walter Knight for 61 years until his death in 1992. Grace bore three sons in Creston, Ashe County, NC, two of which have passed on after marrying and establishing families.
