Littlewoodcarsocks.jpg977 viewsThe Littlewood's first car, which would take them as far north as Providence, RI, visiting their East Coast relatives during the 1920s, was purchased with profits from their government contract for making woolen socks for the army during WW I. Jack Littlewood, the only son of Herbert and Hannah Haigh Littlewood, apparently festooned the new machine with socks as a tribute. How DID they drive on those roads!?!?

AlbertHobsonHash.jpg972 viewsThis is a picture of Albert Hobson Hash, son of Alexander Norman & Susanna Caroline (Kirk) Hash, he was born 28 Sept 1898 in Grayson Cty.; died 14 Jan 1992 in Grayson Cty.; buried in the Fox Cemetery beside his wife, Eva Notra Graybeal, whom he married 22 Dec 1922. He was living at the Osborne Motel when I met him in 1990, a very nice & pleasant man to talk with about family.
The lady & little girl (her granddaughter) were from Maryland & passing through on their way to some place in North Carlonia to visit some of her Hash kin. Really didn't get to know her as well as I did Hobson. Courtesy of Harold Hash.

MarionCabin_1901_.jpg971 viewsOn the back, in my G-Grandmother Marilla Anderson's hand: [and her spelling]
" The house where my Father was born, June 22, 1822 - Marion, Smythe County, Virginia - His sister Maggie and little girl Daisy standing in yard - Nov. [blur] 6th, 1901"
If "Maggie" is William Reese Anderson's sister Margaret, she would be about 64 years old, in this shot. She looks about right for that age, in that family line. Her brother never did turn gray.
