THERE IS AN OLD WELL HEAD CLOSE TO SECOND BASE ON THE SOFTBALL FIELD. WE UNCOVERED IT IN 1978 WHEN WE GRADED FOR THE SOFTBALL FIELD. IT WAS COVERED BY A SQUARE PLATE. A sign at the Old Brick Church states that the church was established in 1890, but that conflicts with her diary. I believe the congregation was established in 1890, but the building is much older and was more of a meeting house before being organized as a church.

Hannah Walton Sanders is connected with the Walton family for whom Walton's Furnace was named. Walton Furnace is located within a few hundred yards of Sanders Mine Road at it's intersection with Walton Furnace Road. Sander's Mine was operated by her husband.
