Rugby - Panoramic View370 viewsThe Church in the lower right is Corinth Baptist Church. The farm in the center of the photo was part of the old Tucker place, IIRC. Wayne Henderson's luthiers shop is across the road from these farm buildings, but obscured in this photo by trees. The road to the lower left leads to Helton, the roads to the right both lead to U.S. 58 and depending on the turn either to Whitetop or Volney. Elk Creek - Elk Creek Fiddler's Convention357 viewsI got to meet Roni Stoneman (TV's Hee Haw show, she played the "ironing board lady" for 20 years) at the Elk Creek Fiddler's this weekend. She was such a dear sweet lady. Her daddy, Earnest Stoneman recorded the first song in the town of Nashville. He sold the first million dollar country record. She told me that she had been on stage 64 years! Her family performed as "The Stoneman Family". Her dad convinced Ralph Peer to bring his tape recorder to Bristol for the legendary "Bristol Sessions". Photo June 23, 2007. Courtesy of David Arnold david-arnold@comcast.netJun 26, 2007
