IT APPARENTLY WAS SOME KIND OF CEREMONY OF THE RED MEN LODGE. THE LONG ARROW TRIBE NO. 24 BEGAN IN SALTVILLE IN 1907. THE LODGE CEASED TO EXIST IN THE EARLY 1950s. The shot was taken from atop White Top Mountain roughly 25 miles south of Red Rock as the crow flies. At the time, Saltville's downtown temperature was 45 degrees and the temperature on White Top was 27 degrees.
