New River Notes Photo Gallery

A Collection of historic and current photos mostly covering the upper New River area of southwestern Virginia and northwestern North Carolina.

John Calvin Ingram (1842-1918) served in Company A 26th NC in the Confederate Army.  Charity Ann Farmer (1844-1920) was the daughter of Wilson Farmer and Susan Wyatt.  They lived on Haw Orchard Mountain, Grayson County, VA, and are buried in the Haw Orchard Baptist Church Cemetery.  Common rumour has it she was a witch.
