Pleasant Springs Methodist Church Cemetery

Location: Comers Rock

Directions: From the west junction of Comers Rock Road (Rt 658) and Mt. Zion Road (Rt. 671) go east about 0.2 mile. The cemetery site is on the north side of the Mt, Zion Rd and is not visible from road.

Comments: There were reported to have been only three interments, of Surratt/Sarratt/Sharratt family members, in a fenced plot approximately 8 feet square. Tradition has it that Lucy Roberts, the wife of Reece Delp, had a misunderstanding with or somehow fell out with the church to which she belonged. She organized the Pleasant Springs Northern Methodist Church. There is no record of when nor how long this lasted. There remains a little cemetery of three graves marked with field stones.”
