South Fork Regular Baptist Church, Piney Creek570 viewsThis congregation was organized in 1840. The church divided in the 1860s over the Civil War, with the other faction styling itself Primitive Baptist. The Primitive Baptist faction had a meeting house on the Ashe County side of the South Fork. This congregation closed about 1960, and that meeting house has gone to ruin. This meeting house photo was taken April 16, 2006 by Jeff Weaver.
