Earl was blowing leaves off the parking lot of a community center across from the church. He (I think-I didn't write a thing down) is a descendant of Squire & Sarah Ann. He led us to the cemetery, went home & came back to make sure we got back down the hill alright. He gave me his phone # and called his cousin Daniel Smith Blevins in Marion about Rhoda. South Fork Regular Baptist Church, Piney Creek1059 viewsThis congregation was organized in 1840. The church divided in the 1860s over the Civil War, with the other faction styling itself Primitive Baptist. The Primitive Baptist faction had a meeting house on the Ashe County side of the South Fork. This congregation closed about 1960, and that meeting house has gone to ruin. This meeting house photo was taken April 16, 2006 by Jeff Weaver.

Frost, Stephen F.1057 viewsStephen F. Frost. He was born in Carroll ca. 1833 and died there some time after 1900. He was the grandson of the Revolutionary soldier John Frost (1756- 13 Jul 1834) who is buried in Carroll in the old Frost family cemetery.
Stephen F. Frost (son of Simon Frost and Rachel Short of Carroll) was a Civil War soldier and served in Co. F of the 29th Virginia Infantry. He married Martha Bedsaul, daughter of David Bedsaul and Sarah Ward of Carroll. Courtesy of Mike Marshall mmarshall13@triad.rr.com
