Totten, Tom873 viewsMALCOLM MARTIN OF ENGLAND VISITED SALTVILLE IN SEPTEMBER OF 1969. HIS GRANDPARENTS, THE BARNES FAMILY, LIVED IN THE HOUSE ON WEST MAIN IN THE 1890s THAT WOULD LATER BECOME THE M. S. DUNHAM HOME. THE BARNES' HAD COME TO SALTVILLE WITH THE MATHIESONS AND OTHER ENGLISHMEN TO START THE MATHIESON ALKALI WORKS IN SALTVILLE. THE MATHIESONS HAD COME FROM WIDNES, ENGLAND. LATER, THE BARNES FAMILY WOULD RETURN TO ENGLAND AND IN 1902 THE DUNHAMS CAME TO SALTVILLE FROM TITUSVILLE, PA.
