Elk Creek - Elk Creek Fiddler's Convention441 viewsI got to meet Roni Stoneman (TV's Hee Haw show, she played the "ironing board lady" for 20 years) at the Elk Creek Fiddler's this weekend. She was such a dear sweet lady. Her daddy, Earnest Stoneman recorded the first song in the town of Nashville. He sold the first million dollar country record. She told me that she had been on stage 64 years! Her family performed as "The Stoneman Family". Her dad convinced Ralph Peer to bring his tape recorder to Bristol for the legendary "Bristol Sessions". Photo June 23, 2007. Courtesy of David Arnold david-arnold@comcast.net
