Saddle Creek - Saddle Creek Primitive Baptist Church383 viewsEstablished in1842, Saddle Creek Primitive Baptist Meeting-house is one of the most recognizable landmarks west of Independence, as it is located on the southside of U.S.58 the main east-west thoroughfare through Grayson County. This style of meeting house with the dual front doors was popular in the late 19th century. Men would enter on one side and women on the other. Photo June 8, 2007 by Jeff Weaver

CopenhaverReunion.jpg382 viewsThis picture was labeled Copenhaver Reunion. I don’t know all the people here or what year this was taken. I have been able to identify my great great grandparents, Harvey King and Amanda Copenhaver. Amanda Copenhaver died in 1938, and she was ill for a number of years before that, so I believe this picture is from the 1910’s or 1920’s. Courtesy of Amy Bazar abazar2151@charter.net
