Saltville - Decommisining of Olin May 1972968 viewsTHESE ROTARY DRIERS ROTATED AND DRYED THE SODA ASH AND MOST OF THE TIME THERE WAS A SNOWSTORM OF ASH COMING FROM AROUND IT FILLING THE FLOOR UNDERNEATH. THE ASH THAT LEAKED OUT WOULD BE SHOVELED UP AND ROLLED BY WHEELBARROW TO THE DIRTY ASH POT, COOKED AND SENT TO THE CAUSTIC SHED.
