Saltville - Automobile Outing 1912707 viewsTHIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF THE PICTURES GIVEN TO ME IN THE LATE 1960s BY MY NEIGHBOR, LULA SHANNON. SHE IS THE LADY SITTING ON THE LEFT. IN 1969 SHE WAS 80 YEARS OLD. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PICTURES WITH HER IN THEM WHERE DR. EARLY WAS MENTIONED AS BEING IN THE PICTURE WITHOUT SPECIFIC IDENTIFICATION. COULD THIS BE HIM DRIVING? WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT THAT OLD CAR IS.
THE PICTURE APPEARS TO BE IN THE AREA OF THE OLD CHATHAM HILL DAM WHERE THE ROAD CROSSES THE RIVER JUST BELOW WHERE THE DAM WAS LOCATED.
THE SHANNONS LIVED IN THE CHATHAM HILL AREA BEFORE MOVING TO SALTVILLE WHEN LULA AND HER BROTHER DOUG WERE VERY YOUNG. Courtesy of Don Smith dsmith1043@comcast.net
