Comments: Burial site is marked with a single gravestone situated just a few feet off trail. The cemetery showed evidence of having had a 3-strand barbed wire fence, but in 1997 there was no evidence of recent maintenance. The grave site is situated in the woods on National Forest Service land. Marker appeared to be of “recent” vintage.

PARKS, Mettie | Jul 1897 | double stone with next. They were mother and daughter, it was not known which was which. A man, last name Anderson, visited the area 1n approximately 1980 inquiring about this grave site. He said that he was married to a sister of one of these women, leaving the impression one was his sister-in-law and the other his mother-in-law. He then supplied the grave marker for these graves. | |
