Comments: In the early days of Grayson County, the nearby settlement was called Greenville. The first county seat was located there. The county seat was later moved to Independence VA. This cemetery has been called by many names over the years, and most likely was originally the Dickenson Family Cemetery. There are several large and beautiful marble monuments here. Unfortunately some of them have toppled from their bases. Several markers are broken and have been placed in piles. Time and the elements have taken their toll on this once beautiful cemetery and the older monuments are in very poor condition.
