Hiram Perkins Cemetery
Grayson County, Virginia
Location: Flatridge
Directions: From Flatridge Rd (Rt 601) and Panther Creek Rd (Rt 675) go north 0.1 mile on Flatridge Rd to 2 story frame house, on the right side of road. The cemetery is across the road from the house and visible from the road.
GPS Coordinates: N36.705460 W81.344711
Surveyed by: Rich and Ginger Ballard on 10 Mar 2003 and combined with info from Paul Herndon’s file.
Comments: From the road the structure would appear to be a hay rack but closer inspection reveals the surviving stones from this cemetery, have been set in concrete and enclosed with metal gates placed in the center of the original cemetery. The area of the cemetery is clear as the field surrounding it has been tended and its level is lower than that of the cemetery. The area is considerably larger than the space needed to contain the identified graves. There are probably several other graves here.
