Greer Cemetery
Grayson County, Virginia
Location: At the head of Cabin Creek
Directions: Turn on Cabin Creek Lane (Rt 749) off of Highlands Parkway (US 58) in western Grayson County. At the first fork of the road bear left and at the second fork also bear left. The road ends shortly before reaching the cemetery, which is about 300 feet beyond a gate at the end of this lane. The cemetery is on the west side of the trail beyond this gate.

Comments: The slope of this cemetery is very steep, but the cemetery is not difficult to access. This cemetery is a bit different from most. The Greer family patriarch who established the cemetery specified in his will that he was not to have a “store bought” grave stone, and that what ever money would have been spent on it was to be given to the poor. Most of this family has followed this tradition.
