Columbus “Lum” Carrico Cemetery
Grayson County, Virginia
Location: The cemetery is on Buck Mountain northwest of Independence.
Directions: From the junction of N. Independence Ave (US 21) and Elliott Place (Rt 684) on the north side of Independence go west 1.35 miles on Elliott Place to the end of pavement. Continue west 1.15 mile to end of the road. The cemetery is west southwest of this point on top of ridge. Access via rough logging trail extension of public rd., crossing streamline on left and climbing to major ridge crest then right along ridge following logging road approximately 0.2 mile to cemetery on right.
