Comments: The genealogy comments are from Ginger Ballard. Some of the stones are quite old and are broken. Someone has fitted the pieces together in concrete slabs. This cemetery is well fenced and maintained.

| BROWN, John | 1815 | Born in Yorkshire England. One of the first settlers of Grayson County Co. Va. Died about the year 1815. He owned all the land for miles around this place where he is buried. Erected by his great grand daughters Mary V. Osborne & Amelia Dufphey. [1815 tax assessments show John Brown, deceased, in care of John Kelley, one farm on Meadow Creek joining the lands of Malin Collings, 400 acres having thereon two “cabbens”, one stable, valued at $1000. By family tradition, John Brown was given a land grant by the King of England for a tract of land from the headwaters of Meadow Creek to the mouth of the creek at New River.] | |
