Court Order Book 1811-1819

Ordered that the overseers of the poor bind Margaret Bryant and Joseph Bryant, children of Susannah Bryant of this county to Peter Snider as the law directs.

On the motion of David Noblett and for reasons appearing to the court it is ordered that Phillip Goines be summoned to appear here at Aug court next to show cause why he has failed to deliver an inventory and render his accounts as guardian for the orphans of Lazurus Denney desceased.

Ordered that the overseers of the poor bind Andrew Farmer a poor child in the county to Alexander Cox as the law directs.

Ordered that the overseers of the poor bind Laurany Hill a poor orphan in the county to Robert Smith as the law directs. Nancy Roten same to Enoch Cox, Elizabeth Roten same to Thomas Davis and Timothy Roten same to Timothy Murphy.

Ordered that the overseers of the poor bind Thomas Leonard and William A. Leonard orphan children in this county to John K. Cunningham as the law directs. And, James Wright, another orphan, to Eli Cook as the law directs.

William Henson an orphan in this county came into court and chose John Henson his guardian whereupon the said John came into court and entered into bond with security according to law.

Overseers of the Poor vs John Brewer
His appearance at this court to answer the complaint for being the father of a bastard child of which Elizabeth Roark has lately delivered. Which said Elizabeth hath since making of the complaint in this cause intermarried with Berry Hicks. John Brewer enter into a recognisance himself in the sum of $100.00
