Ezekiel Young Cemetery
Grayson County, Virginia
Location: Fox, west of Independence
Directions: From the junction of Wilson Hwy (US 58) and Fox Creek Rd (Rt 711) go north on Fox Creek Rd about 1.3 miles to Little Fox Creek Rd (Rt 680). The cemetery is in a field northeast of this junction. The cemetery is in a field between the house and Little Fox Creek Rd. The house and cemetery site can be accessed from a driveway entrance on Fox Creek Rd.

Comments: This is believed to be the burial site of Ezekiel Young was born 1734 in Bristol, England and died April 1800. Various reports state that Ezekiel Young was buried 3/8 mi northeast of the mouth of Little Fox Creek. This site is 0.24 mile north of where Little Fox Creek flows into Fox Creek. There are two “modern” markers for Ezekiel Young. There are some stones with no readable markers in the cemetery. A stone with the initials “E Y” that was found at this cemetery is on display at the 1908 Courthouse. In the mid-1990s there were several field stones and one carved marker.
