New River Notes, a leading genealogy resource for the New River Valley of North Carolina and Virginia, launched its new look website today.

Watauga County, North Carolina

Watauga County was created from Ashe, Caldwell, Wilkes, and Yancy counties on 27 January 1849. Watauga County lost to the creation of Mitchell County on 16 Feb 1861.
