This deed made this 18th day of February 1882 between M. R. Rawlings and Sallie his wife of the one part and J. S. Bishop of the other part witnesseth that the said Rawlings and his wife in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars the said Rawlings and Sallie his wife do grant to the said J. S. Bishop their interest and all claims in a certain tract or parcel of land of George K Painter, deceased, lying in Carroll County on the waters of Little Cranberry Creek joining the lands of David Jennings J S. Bishop and others and the said M. R. Rawlings and Sallie his wife release to the said J. S. Bishop all claims upon said land or parcel of land hereby conveyed generally.

Personally appeared before me, W. R. Mitchell, Clerk of the County
Court for said county M. R. Rawlings the bargainor to the within or
annexed instrument of writing, with whom I am personally
acquainted, and acknowledged that he executed the same upon the day
it bears date and for the purpose therein expressed. And Sallie S.
Rawlings wife of the said bargainor having personally appeared
before and been examined by me privately and a part from her said
husband, acknowledged that she executed said instrument freely
voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constrait on
the part of her said husband and for the purpose therein
expressed.
Given under my hand at office in Sevierville, the 24th day of February 1882.

The foregoing deed was this day presented in this office with the
certificate of acknowledgment and privy examination annexed and was
