A funeral for Mrs. Nancy Lowe Griffith, 49, of Cobbs Creek, was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. She died Thursday, May 9, 1991 in Riverside regional Medical Center, Newport News.
Mrs. Griffith, a native of Low Gap, NC, had spent most of her life in Mathews. She was founder of the Mathews Horse and Pony Club; operator of the Triple B Riding School, was a horse show judge, and was a leader with Mathews 4-H clubs.
She was self-employed as an agent for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and was a school bus driver in Mathews for 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Griffith; three daughters, Lori Mountford of Dutton, Annette Haywood of Mathews and Debbie Bohannon of Topping; her mother, Nina Wagoner Lowe of Seaford; two sisters Andrea Pitcher of Merritt Island, Fla., and Rebecca Mohler of Daleville Al., and 5 grandchildren.
The service was conducted by the Rev. David Smith. Burial was in H.C. Smither Cemetery, Hudgins.
Pall bearers were Horace Phillips, Bill Ligon, Marvin R. Griffith, Eugene Griffith, Gene Griffith and Joseph Griffith Jr.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Hospice Unit of Riverside Regional Medical Center, the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Mathews volunteer Fire Department.
