New River Notes — Complete

January 21, 2014

After about two years of work we have completed a major upgrade to New River Notes. On January 21, 2014 we switched in the last of the updated files and final page revisions.

In January 2013 we introduced the new site layout but because there were many pages left to do there was a big red Under Construction on the front page. Weiss Family Cemetery

Grayson County, Virginia

Location: Volney

Directions: This cemetery is on Woodcrest Rd just north of the junction of Woodcrest Rd and Yonder Ln. From Troutdale Hwy (SR 16) take Wallens Creek Rd (Rt 736) east and then turn left on Woodcrest Rd (Rt 736) continue about 1 mile to Yonder Ln.

GPS Coordinates: N36.651000 W81.390503

Surveyed by: Minnie Hall

Comments: The one marker in this cemetery is of unusual construction. A pedestal at the bottom supports three columns which in turn support a capital slab; this construct resembles the Roman numeral III. Names are carved on the fronts and backs of the three columns. Trees and bushes cover the cemetery, but it appears there are other graves without markers.
