Lt. George Reeves Cemetery

Grayson County, Virginia

Location: Southeast of Indepedence above the north side of the New River.

Directions: This cemetery is east of Old River Rd (Rt 700) about 0.25 mile south of the junction of Graystone Rd (SR 701). It lies in a pasture on a hill south of the road and is easily visible from the road.

GPS Coordinates: N36.57815 W81.10939

Surveyed by: 15 Mar 2004 by Rich and Ginger Ballard plus info from Paul Herdon’s files from 1997

Comments: This is a fenced, gated, and well-maintained cemetery. It is unusual among Grayson cemeteries in that it is enclosed by concrete walls topped with stone. It seems likely that there are several unmarked graves in this cemetery as well as a few marked by rocks.
