New River Notes — Complete

January 21, 2014

After about two years of work we have completed a major upgrade to New River Notes. On January 21, 2014 we switched in the last of the updated files and final page revisions.

In January 2013 we introduced the new site layout but because there were many pages left to do there was a big red Under Construction on the front page. A year later we've finished all of the pages that were on the original site. Construction is complete. new river valley mapNew River Notes was originally launched in 1998 by Jeffrey C. Weaver providing New River Valley researchers with a new wealth of information and that tradition is continued today by the Grayson County, Virginia Heritage Foundation, Inc.

Anderson Hill Cemetery

aka Anderson-Sebastian Cemetery

Grayson County, Virginia

Location:  Rocky Hollow section of Grant

Directions:  The Anderson-Sebastian Cemetery is west of Troutdale Hwy (SR 16) between Rocky Hollow (Rt 639) and Porter Roads (Rt 836), up a private drive.

GPS Coordinates:  N36.678680 W81.422264

Surveyed by:  Jeff Weaver, 11 Mar 2003

Comments:  The cemetery is well fenced, neat, and clean. At the time of the survey evidence of recent work was found. There are 198 graves identified in this cemetery.

Despite the name ascribed to this cemetery, there are other families with more graves and earlier burials. I question whether or not this cemetery has had another name.
